(Operating as Kimberley Swim Clinics)

Last updated: 08/11/2023

At Kimberley Swim Clinics we prioritise fun, discipline and progress.  Our clinics focus on teaching and practicing essential skills that swimmers require to progress as confident, happy and technically competent swimmers (such as core strength, streamline body position and water safety).

The following are the terms and conditions of Kimberley Swim Clinics which is an operating name of Kimberley Active Limited.

By booking their child(ren) into Kimberley Swim Clinics sessions the Parent/Guardian hereby agrees to observe these terms and conditions at all times to help the Swim School ensure that the sessions are carried out in a safe and positive environment and maximise the opportunity for every Swimmer taking part to develop their confidence and skills.

Booking, payment and cancellation

Sessions take place on consecutive days at a pre-arranged venue.  The sessions run within a 2 to 4 hour window each day.

At the time of booking the Swim School will notify the Parent/Guardian of their Swimmer’s clinic time.

However, after the first day of clinics it may be necessary to move some Swimmers between groups for the benefit of all.  The Swim School will endeavour to make any necessary changes with as little disruption as possible but a Swimmer’s clinic time might change.

Catch up lessons cannot be offered if a swimmer misses their pre-arranged session.  This is due to limited pool time booked and limited number of sessions available.

Payment in full is due at time of booking.  Places cannot be held until payment is made in full.  Payment is non-refundable and missed sessions will not be refunded.

The Swim School reserves the right to move lessons to another pool should the pre-arranged venue need to close or be deemed unsuitable for the planned sessions.  No refund will be issued if the Swim School has offered an alternate suitable venue within reasonable distance of the original venue.  However, if the Swim School is unable to find another venue, alternative dates will be offered.  If the Parent/Guardian cannot make the alternative dates a full refund will be offered by the Swim School.

The Parent/Guardian needs to ensure that the Swim School has their up-to-date email and telephone contact details.

Medical Information

It is the Parent/Guardian’s responsibility to inform the Swim School of any medical or behaviour issues which may affect the Swimmer’s learning during their time at the Swim School.

By booking the Swimmer in to the Swim School the Parent/Guardian is giving them permission to participate in the sessions and, in the event of any illness/accident, for treatment to be administered to the Swimmer by an appropriately trained person.

If at any time the Swimmer’s medical information changes, it is the responsibility of the Parent/Guardian to inform the Swim School as soon as possible.

Arriving for swimming sessions

Please note that parking can be difficult at London-based venues and so time should be given to find parking spaces or alternative transport arrangements made.

Swimmers should arrive approximately 15 minutes prior to the start of their sessions so that they have plenty of time to find the pool changing rooms, get ready for their session, check in with the Swim School Administrator and be ready to start the session promptly.

Changing rooms

If accompanying a child under the age of 8 into a changing room the correct changing room appropriate to the gender of the Parent/Guardian MUST be used.

The Parent/Guardian should not bring the Swimmer to a session if they are ill.  The Swim School reserves the right to not allow the Swimmer to swim if it feels that the Swimmer poses a health risk to themselves or others.

On the poolside

The Parent/Guardian should sit on the poolside for the duration of the session.  However, in some circumstances the Swimming Teacher may need to ask the Parent/Guardian to leave the pool area if he/she feels that their presence is prohibiting the progress of the session.

The Parent/Guardian must not approach the swimming teacher or walk alongside the session while it is in progress.

The Swimmer’s siblings, and other Swimmers waiting for their sessions to start, are welcome to sit on the poolside too, however, they are expected to sit quietly so as to not disturb the sessions in progress and they must be accompanied by, and are the responsibility of, the Parent/Guardian.

If the behaviour of a Swimmer or Parent/Guardian is unreasonable and/or poses a health risk to them and/or others the Swim School reserves the right to refuse them entry/ask them to leave.

Under no circumstances can video or camera equipment be used by any Parent/Guardian, Swimmer or sibling on the poolside or in the changing rooms for child safeguarding reasons.

The Swim School will not tolerate bullying of any kind (whether emotional, physical, racial, sexual, homophobic or verbal, but not limited to these).

No food or drink (other than water) is allowed on poolside.

No shoes allowed on poolside. Please either take shoes off or use clean flipflops.

All property left in changing rooms or on poolside is left at your own risk. The Swim School cannot accept responsibility for the loss or damage of any personal belongings.

No littering please.  All belongings brought into the pool area must be taken out after the lesson.

All small children need to be accompanied to the toilet.

After the session

Swimmers must be collected at the end of their session promptly so that the Swimming Teacher is able to start their next lesson on time.

The Swimming Teachers will try to give some feedback after the session, however, as they will need to start their next session promptly it will not be possible to give extensive feedback.  The Swim School Administrator will be available to communicate through.
